The single most important concept. PhantomPad does nothing until you press F8.
ON — mouse and keyboard drive the virtual gamepad. The hooks swallow your input at the OS level, so the underlying game sees the pad and only the pad. Your cursor stops affecting Windows.
OFF — normal input. Mouse moves the cursor, keys go to whatever app is focused.
The pulse next to the PhantomPad logo in the app's title bar tells you which state you are in. You can rebind the toggle from Settings if F8 conflicts with a game.
